Social media automation

Social media automation without giving up control

Most automation tools only automate the last step: putting a post you already made on a calendar. Tella automates the hard part, making the post, and keeps the one step that matters with you: deciding it goes out.

The five jobs inside "posting on social media"

"Automation" covers very different things. It helps to split the work into its parts:

JobWhat it meansWho does it with Tella
1. Making the contentWriting the caption, making the video, cropping the photoTella
2. Fitting each networkFeed post or reel, the right shape, the right formatTella
3. ApprovingDeciding this is right for your businessYou, one tap
4. Publishing everywhereGetting it onto Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTokTella, through Buffer
5. SchedulingChoosing a time in the futureNot yet: Tella posts when you approve

A scheduling tool handles 4 and 5 and leaves 1 and 2, the slow parts, to you. Tella is the other way round. You send the raw material, and the only thing left for you is the part a machine shouldn't decide alone.

Why approval stays on

Fully automatic posting sounds good until a post goes out with the wrong price, a photo of a customer's paperwork, or a claim you'd never make. So Tella is built around a checkpoint:

  • Every post comes to you first. Edit the words as many times as you like, or skip it.
  • Video stops twice. You approve the script before anything is produced, then the finished video before it's posted.
  • Your figures are the only figures. Tella can't invent a price, date, discount or percentage you didn't type.
  • Unusable photos are dropped. Screenshots, documents and blurry frames are screened out before they become a post.
  • No double posts. A publish is never silently retried.

AI creates. You approve. Tella publishes. Approving takes a few seconds, and it's what makes handing the rest over safe.

What it looks like in a week

A café owner using Tella might send:

  • Monday: a photo of the new seasonal cake. Tella writes the post; approved from the counter.
  • Wednesday: "Closed Friday for a private event, open as usual Saturday." On a video plan, Tella turns it into a short text-to-video for reels and TikTok.
  • Saturday: a 20-second clip of the morning rush. Tella edits it into a reel with a voiceover and captions.

Three posts, four networks each, perhaps five minutes of the owner's time. See more in examples.

Automation for teams

The owner can add staff to their business in the Tella app. Everyone sees the same posts, so a manager can send the photos while the owner approves, or the other way round.

Questions

What is social media automation?

Using software to handle the repetitive parts of posting: writing, formatting, scheduling and publishing to each network. Tools differ a lot in which of those parts they actually do. Tella makes the content and publishes it, and leaves the decision to post with you.

Can Tella post automatically without me?

No. Tella always asks first, and nothing is published until you tap approve. That's on purpose: it's your business's name on every post.

Does Tella schedule posts for later?

Not yet. Tella publishes as soon as you approve, which suits posts about what happened today. If you want something out later, approve it later.

Can one approval post to several networks?

Yes. One tap sends the post to every account you've connected: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok. Each one is reported back separately, so you can see if one failed.

What stops a post going out twice?

Tella never retries a publish behind your back, and tapping approve twice can't post twice. If a publish fails, you get a fresh approve button and decide yourself.
