Connect your socials with Buffer

Buffer is how Tella posts for you. You connect Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or TikTok to Buffer once, then give Tella a key so it can post there when you tap Approve.

  1. Make a free Buffer account

    Sign up with your business email. Confirm it from the email Buffer sends — API keys only work once your email is confirmed.

  2. Connect your accounts

    In Buffer, add each social account you want Tella to post to. Instagram must be a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page — Buffer walks you through it.

  3. Open API settings

    Click your profile picture (top right), then API. Only the account's owner can make keys, so do this from the account you signed up with.

  4. Create a key

    Under Personal Access, click + New Key. Name it "Tella", leave every permission ticked, and create it.

  5. Copy the key straight away

    Buffer shows the key once. Copy the whole thing (it's long). Don't email or message it to anyone, us included.

Last step

In the Tella app: Profile → Connected accounts → paste the key. Tella checks it, then you tick which accounts to post to. (Setting up a paid plan? Paste it in the Keys step of your /start link.)
